  • Provide prevention education along with social/emotional education & social skills

  • Access school and community resources and refer to appropriate resources
  • Participate effectively in their child(ren)’s education
  • Understand educational and developmental needs of the student

  • Coordinate community resources to meet students’ needs
  • Identify and develop appropriate resources to adequately meet the needs of students and families
  • Advocate for services to meet the needs of students and families
 

Helping Schools

  • Promote a positive school culture
  • Implement prevention programs
  • Understand how students are impacted by cultural, economic, trauma, and other factors
  • Identify students’ unmet needs
  • Coordinate with school counselors, teachers and staff for needs of students
  • Implement policies to address: school safety, attendance, crisis response, and child abuse and neglect.
