At Otsego Local Schools, our counseling team is dedicated to supporting the academic, social-emotional, and career development of every student. We believe that each student’s journey is unique and deserves guidance, encouragement, and resources to help them reach their fullest potential.

Through a comprehensive counseling program, we provide services that promote academic achievement, personal growth, and college and career readiness. Our counselors partner with students, families, educators, and community members to create an environment where all learners can thrive.

Key Services & Initiatives

Our school counseling program provides support in many ways, including:

Academic Support – Helping students with study skills, organization, scheduling, and goal-setting.

Personal & Social Growth – Offering guidance for building positive relationships, resolving conflicts, and supporting mental health and well-being.

College & Career Readiness – Assisting with career exploration and pathways at all grade levels, college applications, financial aid, and future planning.

Crisis & Intervention Services – Providing immediate support during challenging situations and connecting families to resources. For students and families in need of immediate support, please contact the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.

Family & Community Partnerships – Working with parents, teachers, and community organizations to ensure student success.

Programs & Initiatives – Leading school-wide efforts such as social-emotional learning activities, prevention programs, and awareness campaigns.

Community & Family Engagement

We believe students are most successful when families, schools, and the community work together. Our counseling team encourages open communication and collaboration to support every child’s growth.

Families and community members can get involved by:
Staying Connected – Reach out to your child’s school counselor with questions or concerns. We are here to listen, problem-solve, and provide resources.

Volunteering – Participate in school events, career days, or mentoring opportunities to share your experiences and talents with students.

Seeking Support – Counselors can connect families to community resources for mental health, tutoring, financial assistance, or other needs.

Partnering with Us – Join us in school-wide initiatives such as prevention programs, awareness campaigns, or service projects that strengthen our school community.
