When should I contact the school nurse?
Parents should reach out to the nurse for questions about student medications, health forms, immunization requirements, or if their child has a specific medical condition that needs a care plan.
What health forms are required for my student?
Emergency medical authorization forms, immunization records, and any necessary medication forms are required at the start of each school year. Forms can be found in the Helpful Links section (FinalForms).
Who should I call if I have a safety concern at school?
Safety concerns should be reported to the Campus Safety Director, Noel Crawford (ncrawford@otsegoknights.org) or School Resource Officer, Mike Basler. In urgent situations, always call 911 first.
What safety measures are in place in the district?
Our district uses secured entrances, a visitor management system, school resource officers, security cameras, and regular safety drills to protect students and staff.
How are emergencies communicated to families?
In the event of an emergency, families are notified through our district’s communication system ParentSquare (via phone calls, texts, and emails) as quickly as possible.
Can students or parents confidentially report safety concerns?
Yes. Concerns can be reported directly to the Campus Safety Director, SRO, or through the district’s anonymous reporting system (SafeSchool Helpline - information above in Community & Family Engagement).
What role does the School Resource Officer (SRO) play?
The SRO supports safety by building positive relationships with students, providing law enforcement support when needed, and leading safety and prevention education programs.
What happens if a student gets sick or injured during the school day?
The school nurse evaluates the student and provides appropriate care. Parents/guardians will be contacted if a student needs to go home or requires further medical attention.
