ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BOOSTERS The 2012 SPAGHETTI SUPPER/AUCTION is March 16! If you have one, please send it to school with your child and have them take it to the office. I will pick it up from there. Please send to school by March 9, 2012. The Grand Rapids Elementary School Boosters provides both financial and volunteer assistance to the students and staff at Grand Rapids Elementary. Officers for 2010-2011
Events planned for the year include: OPEN HOUSE PICNIC The night before the first day of school, the Grand Rapids Elementary School Boosters make dinner available for students and their families. The menu: hamburgers or hot dogs meals that include chips, brownies and a drink. GRANT PROGRAM Grant requests are accepted twice per year from GRE teachers and staff. Grant deadlines are October 31 and February 28. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES The GRE Boosters fund several enrichment activities in support for the students throughout the school year. The Tree House Troupe and the Toledo Opera are just a few examples. TEACHER SUPPLY CHECKS If a teacher is in need of something extra for the classroom the Boosters will help purchase any miscellaneous supplies all year round. ELVES' ATTIC The Boosters provide a Christmas Store for students to purchase inexpensive gifts for family and friends. It also gives every student a chance to visit and have their picture taken with Santa Claus. All gifts are made or purchased by our parents or school supporters. FALL CARNIVAL & SPRING ICE CREAM SOCIAL We have an annual Fall Carnival and silent auction as well as a Spring Ice Craem Social for all GRE students, parents and friends. These are family fun events that provides great food, fun games, and silent auction for lots of fun. STAFF APPRECIATION The Boosters try to find ways to reward our wonderful teachers and staff all year round. We provide the staff with dinner during conferences as well as a special luncheon during Teacher Appreciation week. We also try to put little gifts in their mailboxes all year round. END OF THE YEAR ACTIVITIES The Boosters provide support for field day and end of the year classroom parties. We also help with reward day. BOOSTER FUNDRAISERS To financially support or fund the above activities, the Boosters participate in the following fundraising programs: Market Day: This monthly program which allows parents to purchase a variety of family-friendly foods with the school receiving a portion of the monthly sales. Orders are delivered to the school for parents to pick up. Volunteers are always needed to keep this program going. If you are interested in helping, please contact Julie Morgan. |
