Events planned for the year
include:
OPEN HOUSE PICNIC: Each year during Open House, the
Grand Rapids Elementary School Boosters make dinner
available for students and their families. The menu: Hamburgers or hot dogs meals that include chips,
brownies and a drink.
GRANT PROGRAM: Grant requests
are accepted twice per year from GRE teachers and staff. Grant
deadlines are October 31 and February 28.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES: The GRE Boosters fund several
enrichment activities in support for the students throughout the school year.
The Tree House Troupe and the Toledo Opera are just a few examples.
TEACHER SUPPLY CHECKS: If a teacher is in need of
something extra for the classroom the Boosters will help purchase any
miscellaneous supplies all year round.
ELVES' ATTIC: The Boosters provide a Christmas
Store for students to purchase inexpensive gifts for family and friends.
It also gives every student a chance to visit and have their picture
taken with Santa Claus. All gifts are made
or purchased by our parents or school supporters.
SPRING CARNIVAL: We have an annual Spring Carnival
and silent auction for all GRE students, parents and friends. This is a
family fun event that provides great food, fun games, and silent auction for
lots of fun.
STAFF APPRECIATION: The Boosters try to find ways to
reward our wonderful teachers and staff all year round. We provide
the staff with dinner during conferences as well as a special luncheon
during Teacher Appreciation week. We also try to put little gifts
in their mailboxes all year round.
End of the Year Activities: The Boosters
provide support for field day and end of the year classroom parties.
We also help with reward day.
PARENT GROUP FUNDRAISERS
To financially support or fthe above activities the Boosters
participates in the following fundraising programs:
MARKET DAY: This monthly program which allows parents
to purchase a variety of family-friendly foods with the school receiving
a portion of the monthly sales. Orders are delivered to the school
for parents to pick up. Volunteers are always needed to keep this

TMK Fundraisers: One of our largest fundraising
programs which takes place in February we sell food items and household
items.
Art to Remember: In the spring children create
art work that parents can purchase on mugs, tote bags, mouse pads, etc.
