Killdeer

The Killdeer is more common in Michigan shorelines however they seem to appear on the banks of the waterways of Wood County.  Their wide feet are suited for sand travel.  They can be best noted for their head bobbing walking motion that might remind you of a pigeon.  The Killdeer also has the distinctive double black band on its breast and orange hind feathers.
