2012-13 BUSSING AND PICKUP/DROP OFF PROCEDURES*
UPDATED 8/21/12
*Note – We will have extra staff and volunteers helping to direct traffic on the first few days of school.
BUS STUDENTS – All school busses will use Scott Road as their access route to the new school. This access road is for bus use only. Students will be dropped at the north exit of the school for entrance to the building. Until students become familiar with the building, guides will help students find their room. When students are unloaded the busses will exit the north end of the junior/senior high onto Tontogany Creek Road. (Cars should not use that exit.) The north exit is where all bus students will use to load their busses in the afternoon. All students in grades preschool through sixth grade will follow these procedures.
PRESCHOOL STUDENTS DROPPED OFF AND PICKED UP BY CAR – All preschool students (and their siblings) should be dropped off by the playground parking lot that is in the south east corner of our school. Cars should enter the south drive by the high school off of Tontogany Creek Road and continue straight back to the parking lot. (Do not turn into the high school parking lot.) The same procedure should be used in the afternoon. As parents are leaving they need to use the same drive out to Tontogany Creek Road. (South of the high school.)
ALL OTHER STUDENTS DROPPED OFF AND PICKED UP BY CAR – All cars should enter the south drive off Tontogany Creek Road. Cars should follow the drive all the way back to the school. Cars should loop around and drop off students directly in front of the school and then continue back out the south drive along the field (not back through the parking lot) to Tontogany Creek Road. We will try single file traffic in front of the school for drop off in the morning.
In the afternoon when picking up students, parents should enter the same direction. We will try a double car pick up line in front of the school. Students will be held in the commons area until picked up by parents. IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT PARENTS STAY IN THEIR CARS AND NOT BLOCK TRAFFIC – We do not want you to come into the building to get your child. It would also be helpful in the afternoon if you would have a sign with your child’s name displayed prominently in your window.
PLEASE NOTE: Our school day begins at 9 am. Our front doors open at 8:50 am. Upon arrival students should report to their classrooms. Students who walk home or are being picked up by their parents will be dismissed at 3:20 pm. All students riding busses will be dismissed at 3:25 from the north exit.
