DETAILED
INSTRUCTIONS:
Double click the icon on the slide if you used an auto layout that included a clipart box. If you don't have a clipart box - From the menu bar, click Insert, click Picture, click ClipArt. Either way, now click on the category you want, or type in the search box. Find the clip art you want and click once in the center of it. Click the Insert button (the top one) on the menu that appears; move and change the size as needed. CLIPS ONLINE - Double click the icon on the slide if you used an auto layout that included a clipart box. If you don't have a clipart box - From the menu bar, click Insert, click Picture, click ClipArt. Either way, now click Clips Online, click OK (you will be taken to the Microsoft Design Gallery automatically if you are already on the Internet; you always are connected to the Internet at school, probably not at home). Type a keyword for what you want, next to that drop down and click on "clip art". Find the clip art you want and click once in the box beneath it to put a check mark in it (don't double click), go back up to the pale blue bar and click Download 1 item, click Download now, (if a small AutoComplete window opens, just close it), click Open. On the new window that appears click on the clipart you want, click the Insert button (the top one) (if the Insert button is dim, close the window-there should be one just like it underneath it) on the menu that appears; move and change the size as needed. If it won't let you insert, close the windows, then go to clipart within PowerPoint and click on the Downloaded Clips category - you should see your choice and insert from there.. To MOVE the clipart on the slide, click in the center of the clip art and drag it where you want it. Change the size of a picture by placing the mouse pointer on a corner so the pointer changes to a diagonal double pointing arrow. Then either push toward the center of the picture to make it smaller, or pull it out to make the picture larger. Do not push or pull from a midpoint - it will distort the picture. |

Effect - Do not use: Appear. Crawl, Dissolve, Flash Once, Peek, Swivel, or Random Effects - you may use any other effect.
Direction - You may choose any direction for the effect to come on to the slide.
Introduce Text - You may use All at once or By Word; please do not use By Letter.
1. In the menu bar click on Slide Show, click Custom Animation.
2.
Click on Object 3 making sure there is a check mark in the box by it,
click on the Order & Timing tab, click Automatically with 00:00 (keep it at
zero)
Don't click on mouse click
3. Click the Effects tab - choose the effect and its direction to appear on the slide
4. Keep it at no sound (we'll add sound only on slide 1 so that it is throughout the entire slide show)
5. Now click on Text 2 and make choices similar to those you made for Object 3
6. Click OK.
7. Do the same thing on slide 3
8. Do the same thing on slide 4
1. Click Slide Show - click Slide Transition - choose any effect you want - choose either Medium or Fast (not Slow)
2. Under Advance, click Automatically after - so it has a checkmark before it, and type in 5
3. Click On mouse click to remove the checkmark
Keep it at No Sound (we'll put sound on slide one later so that it is heard throughout the whole slide show)
4. Click Apply to All
View the slide show (press the F5 key). You may have to adjust a few slides separately so there is enough time for your viewer to read everything, think about it, and pause a moment before going to the next slide.
If a slide needs more time, click on that slide, then
- Click Slide Show - click Slide Transition - don't change the Effect
- In Automatically after, change the number so it is a number greater than 5 to give you more time
- Click Apply, (don't click Apply to All)
- Do this for each slide that needs more or less time - Keep checking and changing until you have the slide show just right for your viewer
Background -YOU MUST BE ON SLIDE ONE - colors should be pleasant to look at - easy to read - Usually using pale colors is the best - not glaring or hurt your eyes - not so dark that you can't read the text easily - just because a color is pretty doesn't mean it will be a good background color
