The
older these machines become the more this is happening.
What can I do?
| 1.
Slide the back case away from the front by pushing it to the rear a few inches;
the front remains stationery. (you may have to remove screws from the back of the tower to do this). |
|
| 2. Then remove the front panel by unsnapping 3 pieces of plastic on each side (I usually use a key or scissors to do this) - You will see the wires of the power switch hanging on it. Sometimes a spring will fall out - just pick it up - you’ll put it back in a moment. | |
| 3. Remove the switch from the case (if the wires come undone you can reattach them - they just slide back in). | |
| 4. Remove the plastic button (you might have to “pinch” the sides) and the spring. | |
| 5. Now put it back together -- spring - button - switch - front panel - back case. |
This has been happening so much that I have not been putting all of the screws back in so it takes less time in the future.
| As
it gets worse, I don't even put
the button or spring back in. |
