To cite a source from the Internet

You must include at least three pieces of information (see the example below of a graphic taken from the NWOCA home page – NOTE: you must also cite the source of your text, not just a graphic)

Address

highlight and right click the address on your browser’s address bar, copy, go to the slide, paste (this creates a text hyperlink to the source)

Date

Type the date you accessed the information
November 12, 2002 (spell out the month, correctly punctuate and space the date)

Web Page Title

Type the web page title as shown in its title bar (restore [shrink] PowerPoint so you can see the web page’s title bar) NWOCA Home Page

Remove the graphic’s hyperlink
  • Right click the graphic

  • If “Insert Hyperlink” appears, there isn’t a hyperlink – just close that window

  • If there is a hyperlink, click “Remove Hyperlink”
