| To change to this inferior setting: | ||
| Right click any where on the desktop | ||
| Click Properties on the pop-up menu | ||

| Click the Settings tab | ||
| Drop down and click on 256 colors | ||
| Click Apply, OK, OK, Yes, OK |
Some older programs (KidPix, Read Write & Type, Carmen SanDiego) will only run when the display setting is dropped down to 256 colors. (NOTE - WINDOWS XP may not be able to run some of these older programs.)

Be sure to change back to the better display settings when you are finished with
the program that needed 256 colors. While using 256 colors, you'll notice
"fuzzy" pictures or incorrect colors.
