Have
students brainstorm - different
kinds of noises in categories (annoying sounds, pleasant sounds, etc.). As they brainstorm, record answers on the computer (have a
student keyboard it). When
finished, print out the list, make copies, have students insert into their
writing notebooks or journals. Do
this whenever students are playing with words and/or phrase and sentence
creation.
Create webs for pre-writing or note-taking on the computer rather than a whiteboard, chalkboard, or overhead. These can be printed out and copied so that each student gets a printed copy.
