Classroom Projection (limited availability)

NOTE:  The Dells that were placed in the classrooms between December 2002 and May 2003 have S-video output capabilities.  This means, if the TV or VCR in your room has S-video input, it can be connected to the Dell so the display will be projected onto the TV screen.  If you have the necessary equipment, but need a cable, determine the cable length needed to make the connection, then email Kathy with the information.  If funds are available, perhaps we could then purchase the correct size cable.  Click here for more information.

Have students brainstorm  - different kinds of noises in categories (annoying sounds, pleasant sounds, etc.).  As they brainstorm, record answers on the computer (have a student keyboard it).  When finished, print out the list, make copies, have students insert into their writing notebooks or journals.  Do this whenever students are playing with words and/or phrase and sentence creation.

Create webs for pre-writing or note-taking on the computer rather than a whiteboard, chalkboard, or overhead.  These can be printed out and copied so that each student gets a printed copy.
