Sixth grade computer classes are held in the library at Otsego Junior High in Tontogany, Ohio. The 26 computers in the lab consist of 5 stand alone computers and 2 sets of NComputing work stations. Ten Ncomputing workstations are run from one "host" to make up a set. This is a recent addition that has been a very economical solution to increasing the number of lab computers. Unlike the computers in the elementary buildings, these computers are running Microsoft Office 2007. Hence, the necessity for a different set of instructions.
Each student is assigned a username and password which must be memorized.
Instead of Letterchase, we are using Kiran's Typing Tutor which you may also download free for home use. Here are the instructions for use in the junior high library lab.
The first word processing assignment, Viking runes, is divided into several lessons. Here are the basic requirements and "how to" steps if you need assistance.
