Safety Procedures

The following procedures may help you to understand what is expected of your child(ren) in order to get to school and return home safely at a designated school bus stop.

Each student will be assigned a place for safety (P.O.S.) to wait for the school bus in the morning. The student shall be at the bus stop before the bus is scheduled to arrive. The students shall wait in their P.O.S. until the school bus driver signals them to come to the bus. The student should always check traffic on their own before going to the bus.

PM

Right Side:

The driver will assign a designated place of safety (P.O.S.) on the residence side. The driver will count the student(s) as they got off the bus. The student(s) must go to the P.O.S. where the driver will count them again. Student(s) is/are not to leave their P.O.S. until the school bus has pulled away.

Left Side Crossers:

​The driver will count the student(s) as they are getting off the bus. They will take at least 10 steps in front of the bus, and then look to the driver for a hand signal (palm up to the windshield). When the driver's hand comes down the students may continue to cross to their designated P.O.S on the residence side. The . student(s) is/are not to leave their P.O.S. until the school bus has pulled away.
